BSB51315 Diploma of Work Health and Safety

You are required to provide a Certified Copy of the Cert IV WHS (BSB41415 or BSB41412) Certificate and Records/Transcript which lists the five (5) core unit to confirm entry to BSB51315 Diploma of WHS.

The Diploma of Work Health and Safety (BSB51315) is a nationally-recognised qualification and is suitable for people who coordinate and maintain the Work Health and Safety (WHS) program in an organisation. It reflects the role of practitioners who apply a substantial knowledge base and well-developed skills in a wide variety of WHS contexts.

Preferred pathways for prospective learners entering this qualification include:

BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or other relevant Certificate IV qualifications OR Vocational experience in work health and safety roles without a formal qualification.

PRE-REQUISITES:

Per qualification requirements, prospective learners must evidence successful prior completion of all core units in BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent competencies:

  • BSBWHS402: Assist with compliance with WHS laws;
  • BSBWHS403: Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS consultation & participation processes;
  • BSBWHS404: Contribute to WHS hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control;
  • BSBWHS405: Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS management systems; and
  • BSBWHS406: Assist with responding to incidents

This qualification requires completion of nine (9) units of competency, comprising five (5) core Work Health and Safety units and four (4) elective units addressing a variety of topics and subject-matter areas.

BSB51107 Diploma of Management

The Diploma of Management (BSB51107) is a nationally-recognised qualification suited to people in a current management role or with previous management experience. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are engaged to manage the work of others or to add value to or review management practices. Their role may be in any industry or organisational setting. Typically people in these roles will have considerable experience in their respective industries or vocational areas and combine an informed perspective of specific work requirements with their managerial approaches. The qualification requires a sound theoretical knowledge base and managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate own work or the work of a team.

Preferred pathways for prospective learners entering this qualification include:

  • BSB40812 Certificate IV in Frontline Management or other relevant qualification;
  • OR
  • With vocational experience but without formal supervision or management qualification.

To successfully enter and complete this course, you MUST:

  • Have read the Learner Handbook ensuring understanding of the schedule of fees, assessment and refund requirements
  • Complete in full the enrolment form including LLN assessment, and provide a validated unique student identifier (USI)
  • Have reliable internet access and a fully-functional computer / smart device loaded with a web browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox) and appropriate software applications to read PDF files (e.g. Adobe), produce documents and/or spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office), and ability to download and upload documentation from/to the ELMO learner dashboard)

Technology skills to conduct online research using a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox) and to use a variety of software applications to send e-mails with attachments, read PDF files (e.g. Adobe), produce documents (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint), analyse WHS information and data (e.g. Excel);
